Bryn has been involved in the rock and pop scene since 1976 and has been a member of several bands, such as “Crysbas” and “Sobin a’r Smaeliaid” in the eighties.
With the formation of “Bryn Fôn a’r Band” in the nineties, Bryn was keen to have more control over his music, and he decided to try his hand at producing his own records.
He is now recognized as one of the most influential record producers in Wales today.
Therefore the launch of his own label was a natural step to ensuring that he had oversight of the product from start to finish, from demo to mastering, through to the design of the cover and reproduction.
A Sobin a’r Smaeliaid yn eu hanterth, yn 1993 daeth demos i law oddiwrth y cyfansoddwr talentog ac enigmatig, Emyr Huws Jones. Cyflogwyd y diweddar amryddawn Les Morrison i gynhyrchu y casgliad arbennig o ganeuon – Dyddiau Di-gymar.
Penderfynnodd Les na fyddai sŵn enwog y Smaeliaid yn gweddu i greadigaethau emosiynnol Ems, felly aeth ati i gasglu nifer o gerddorion sesiwn byd-enwog yn Sdiwdio Sain, Llandwrog. Rhyddhawyd yr albwm yn 1994 gyda taith hyrwyddo estynedig, roedd y cd yn boblogaidd o’r cychwyn ac aeth ymlaen i werthu degau o filoedd. Yn ystod y daith gynta honno, fe gynigiodd rhai o’r cerddorion y byddai yn syniad aros fel uned a ffurfio band parhaol. Dyna ddechrau Bryn Fôn a’r Band.
With ‘Sobin a’r Smaeliaid’ at their peak in 1993, demos were received from the talented and enigmatic composer, Emyr Huws Jones. The versatile Les Morrison was employed to produce the special collection of songs – ‘Dyddiau Di-gymar’.
Les felt that the unique ‘Sobin a’r Smaeliad’ style would not suit the emotional music of Ems, so he went on to collect a number of world-renowned musicians from the Sdiwdio Sain, Llandwrog. The album was released in 1994 with an extended promotional tour, the cd was popular from the start and went on to sell tens of thousands. During the first tour, it was suggested that they stay together and form a new band which was the beginning of ‘Bryn Fon a’r Band’.
